Open pollinated means you can save seed from your own plants and expect it to
grow “true to type” - provided it hasn’t cross-pollinated. Unlike the hybrid varieties popular today- seed from hybrids will not grow true to type - you have to buy new seed each year.
Sweetie's large vines produce very sweet, red, round, cherry-type tomatoes. Sweetie's high sugar content makes it a good choice for juice or preserves. It is resistant to alternarium stem canker. This is an indeterminate tomatoe. Indeterminate tomatoes continue to grow and produce fruit throughout the growing season. Fruits are good size for eating out of hand, or for salads.. It also forms parts of the category of tomatoes known as Cherry.
Expect maturity to occur in a range of 66 to 75.
