Eco seeds are Open Pollinate or Non Hybrid seed with no chemical coatings and GE
Open pollinated means you can save seed from your own plants and expect it to
grow “true to type” - provided it hasn’t cross-pollinated. Unlike the hybrid varieties popular today- seed from hybrids will not grow true to type - you have to buy new seed each year.
If deadheaded regularly, African marigold's will usually produce many large blooms. They grow best in full sun and actually seem to prefer poor soil. Growing African marigolds around vegetables help repel harmful insects and rabbits.
Be careful when handling marigolds because some people can get skin irritations from the plant’s oils. While marigolds deter pests, they attract bees, butterflies, and ladybugs to the garden.
When planting or transplanting African marigold plants, be sure to plant them slightly deeper than they were originally growing so they can support their tall flowers.
Seed packets contain sowing and growing information & indicates companion plants and crop rotation guidelines.
